In 2004, Fakih was appointed as tourism deputy of the Ministry of Tourism and Culture and in 2006 he was appointed as minister of tourism. He served as a minister until he resigned in 2011. Between 2012 and 2014, he served as chairman & CEO for Kamaran Industry and Investment. Fakih has worked in the aviation industry for more than 16 years. He was appointed chairman of the General Authority of Civil Aviation and Meteorology in 2014.
Fakih was awarded the “Golden Rudder of International Tourism” for leadership creativity in 2009. In 2012, the Arab Tourism information Center awarded him the “Pioneer in Tourism Work” award.
Fakih holds a master’s degree in marketing, a bachelor’s degree in economics and political science from Sana’a University, and high diplomas in commercial aviation administration and business administration.
