Jeehan N. Abdul Ghaffar

International Development Expert

International development expert who has devoted more than 17 years to working on global, regional and national issues related to poverty reduction, conflict resolution, human development and gender.

Abdul Ghaffar is currently a senior advisor to the executive director at the World Bank Group Board of Directors representing countries in the Middle East and North Africa and South Asia regions. Previously, she was the deputy head of the United Kingdom Department of International Development in Yemen. She was also a member of the governance team at United Nations Development Programme and a researcher at the United Nations Development Fund for Women.

As a Fulbright scholar, Abdul Ghaffar graduated with a master’s degree in international development from the University of Denver and is currently working on a doctorate in conflict analysis and resolution.
