Helen Lackner is a visiting fellow at the European Council for Foreign Relations and a research associate at SOAS.  Her most recent book is Yemen in Crisis: the road to war (Verso 2019). She regularly contributes to Open Democracy, Arab Digest, Oxford Analytica, Orient XXI, among others. She lived in Yemen for more than 15 years in the past half century. Yemen’s environmental issues, particularly climate change and water are among her main interests.
