As part of the Rethinking Yemen's Economy initiative, the Development Champions and project consortium members traveled to the UAE on July 25, 2023, for a briefing mission. The purpose of the mission was to establish and maintain communication channels with regional policymakers, inform stakeholders about Development Champions' deliberations, and positively impact the development agenda of Yemen's regional development partners. The briefing covered various topics, such as the latest developments in peace negotiations, the current economic situation, and opportunities in the renewable energy and fisheries sectors. The briefing also addressed potential economic prospects after the peace agreement, relief programs, and areas for growth.
