Ghadeer Al-Maqhafi
Researcher in economics and a consultant in corporate and bank governance
She is certified as an independent accredited board member from the Yemeni Institute of Directors (YIoD) and the International Finance Corporation (IFC).
She holds a bachelor's degree in Information Systems and E-commerce. From 2017 to August 2023, Ghadeer managed the Yemeni Business Club (YBC), the leading economic organization supporting private sector issues in Yemen.
She also managed its entities, including the Yemeni Institute for Directors, which focuses on governance, and the Business Support Center, which supports entrepreneurship. Through the YBC, Ghadeer has worked closely with the Yemeni private sector for 9 years. In terms of publications, she was part of the team that published the Banking Governance Guide in collaboration with the IFC and the Central Bank of Yemen.
She also managed a project to publish the Small and Medium-sized Enterprises Governance Guide in Yemen for two years. Additionally, she served as a project officer for six years on the Global Competitiveness Report in Yemen with the World Economic Forum (WEF).
She has also contributed to the Gender Gap Report, the Global Risks Report, and Future Markets reports with the WEF.
